My approach…

…to wedding photography is to capture a beautiful photographic story of your day; genuine “in the moment” natural photography that captures real emotion, laughter, and events as they happen.

Known as documentary wedding photography – also photojournalism or reportage – my approach allows me to capture beautiful and sincere images without intervention, whilst you simply enjoy your celebrations (no need to pose on cue).

Photographing the full story (preparations, to the dancing in the evening) is my recommended coverage option and I love to capture as much as possible along the way, from peoples’ characters to the details on top of the cake.

What about portraits and group photos?

My documentary approach covers the majority of your day, however this doesn’t mean that (for those that want them) you can’t also enjoy beautifully crafted couple portraits and group photos – far from it. With suitable time set aside in your day, I love to create memorable and stunning images with you. Just get in touch and we can talk about how much emphasis on these aspects is right for you – from no time at all to a fun ambitious shoot on a nearby mountain top!

I like to make couple portraits as relaxing and enjoyable for you as possible. In fact, some couples have commented on just how much they enjoyed spending this calm time with each other during an otherwise busy day of celebration.

Behind the scenes

As well as photographing the wedding day itself, lots of work goes on before and after your wedding (including a skilled three stage edit and retouch process) to ensure you receive the best quality wedding photography service throughout, and ultimately wedding photographs you will fall in love with and want to look at again and again.

I’ve developed my artistry and technical skill over many years and continue to do so. As a seasoned professional I offer a creative, reliable and friendly service to fabulous wedding couples from across the UK and beyond.

I also offer free impartial advice about awesome wedding suppliers if you need it.

What sort of weddings do I photograph?

Whether your wedding is set to be a small intimate celebration or a large and loud party, I will be very happy to hear from you.

Living in Derbyshire means I’m particularly familiar with Peak District barns/ farms, churches and country houses but wherever you are getting married and whatever type of ceremony you are having, I’ll always be looking to capture it in a natural, stylish, timeless and artistic way.

Where am I – where do I cover?

I’m based in Wirksworth (near Matlock), Derbyshire on the corner of the beautiful Peak District National Park but I also photograph weddings throughout the UK. International destinations are considered on special request.
