Derbyshire wedding photography: Barton Blount
Rachel & Jay’s Barton Blount Wedding
‘Unique’ is perhaps an overused word in the world of weddings, however this wedding venue truly was.
Having grown up next door to the stunning Barton Blount residence (Derbyshire), Rachel had her heart set on spending her wedding day there. Barton Blount is a private home however, and this had never been done before. Luckily, the owner said yes and the results were spectacular.
Rachel and Jay’s wedding day was rich with local connection which really added to the atmosphere and clearly meant a lot to all concerned.
The bride and her bridal party prepared for the big day in the house, overlooked occasionally by the owner’s inquisitive and very cute dog. Emotions ran high when the father of the bride saw his daughter all ready for her big day. The groom and friends gathered for their preparations in the Holly Bush pub, which was opened as a special favour as Rachel and Jay are locals. The ceremony was held in the picturesque Grade 1 listed parish church in Church Broughton – opposite the happy couple’s house.
Rachel and Jay also managed to pull in a favour with the weather; it was raining up until shortly after the ceremony when a fresh and bright June day was revealed.
I think the images captured on this special day really demonstrate the beauty of photojournalism, or non-posed photographs. There are so many moments here that speak volumes about the day and about the couple and their loved ones – such as the moment when the groom has his corsage pinned on; when the bride arrives in church; the bride and father sharing a moment after the ceremony; and the many images of good friends having a blast.
The images on this page are just a short snippet of the day – just get in touch if you want to see more or have a chat about your wedding plans – I look forward to it.
At the time of writing Barton Blount doesn’t have a website as it’s a private residence not officially available for weddings. Watch this space though…
